There is no need to be ashamed of having a limited budget. In fact, the challenge frequently results in more interesting stores that you can tell to your family and friends along with a more enjoyable experience. The best things in life really can be free (or at least cheaper!)

And at WOWFreeStuff we love to be frugal so we have came up with the following which are few important tips to help get your summer budget holiday adventure off to a good start.

Become a true ninja searching for flights

Flight comparison sites such as Skyscanner are an absolute must whenever you are booking a holiday. These sites search all of the different airline offers that are online and provide you with the least expensive price based on what your individual requirements are. Hopper goes even a step further and provides you with insights that are based on whatever light you are looking or, including what your expected price is until you depart.

Remember to look prices up in incognito or anonymous mode on your browser and be sure to delete your history and cookies. If companies see that you have an interest in certain flights and continue to click they will in increase the price due to demand.

Be flexible with the times and dates of your flight

For people with children this can be tough. However, if you can be flexible with your dates, it can save you a lot of money. Numerous flights are cheaper at odd times of the day, like over night or really early in the morning. There are some countries with limited flights at certain times in the year.

If you have the ability to be flexible and get your flight booked during the week or at an off time of day, there is a good chance you will get a good deal. Also, if you are able to to handle a flight transfer, they have tendency to be less expensive as well.

Purchase your flight at the best time

It can be hard to judge what the best time is for booking a holiday. Some people have to book earlier than others and you have to take into consideration school holidays, time off form work and other factors when you are booking.

You may also want to try to book your holiday at the last minute since you can get a better deal this way sometimes. Timing is somewhat of a learning curve when it comes to finding the best deals online. However, the average time for saving most money is in the 10 to 14 week in advance range.

Explore the possibility of a rail pass

If you would like to see many things on your next holiday in various parts of the country then your best bet would be to buy a rail pass. When you book a train in advance it can save you a ton of money. However, a better option is a rail pass if you are not wanting to have risking missing the train or stick with a fixed schedule.

Railcards can be especially value if you plan to visit Europe. They can be a real bargain. Check out Interrail prices.

Thoroughly check the exchange rates

If you want to be able to budget effectively, then you will want to exchange and take along a decent sum of money prior to departing. It may be hard to judge what the best deals are. That is why I have created this helpful guide to help make sure you can avoid common misconceptions and receive the best exchange deals.

If you are going to need to exchange while abroad, there is a rule of three that I always use: always make sure that you check three place prior to changing money in order to receive the best deal. The most expensive options tends to be withdrawing money from ATMs and at airports.

Sleep while you are traveling

You can save money on an additional night at a hotel if you travel during the night. You may not receive five star accommodation on a train or flight. However you will save money on not having to book a hotel for an addition night. That can be particularly effective if you will be traveling over long distance to an expensive area.

Look For Free WiFi

It is essential now for travelers to find WiFi abroad. All of us need to be able to communicate, post photos on Facebook to make everybody back home jealous and be able to Google important information.

Begin with booking an accommodation that comes with WiFi. It is convenient for being able to communicate with individuals back home or one another while you are abroad. When you are outdoor, you can use mobile apps such as MandicMagic to ensure you are using the networks that are close by.

Get off the beaten path

It can be so easy to get swept away by all of the tourism activities that are offered by various countries. However, have you ever thought about doing some exploring on your own? Find less expensive restaurants and eat in the places that the locals eat in. Don't ask people working at the hotel where the best places to drink and eat are. Instead, ask them where they like to go. They will know where all the best and most inexpensive places are.

Visit local markets

Visiting local markets is another way to save money, just like it is to dine out in local areas way from the tourist traps. Markets are an excellent place to soak in the local culture especially compared to a shopping center.

You can get incredibly cheap deals by haggling with market stall owners. It is an excellent place for you to find authentic food to eat without having to spend a lot of money.

Skip a Course

Quite often restaurants increase their prices at night. So eating out for lunch can be cheaper than going out for dinner. One really good options are brunches since they combine two meals into a single bill. Another thing you can do is pack your lunch or have a larger breakfast, especially when you are going to be visiting the more popular areas, since they tend to have the most expensive places.

Avoid roaming fees

Using free services such as Whatapp and Skype are the most effective methods for avoiding unexpected phone charge. If you have an iPhone, be sure to disable your ‘Send as SMS' option, or you with get hit with high texting charges. You cane even purchase an international or local SIM card if you are going to be making a lot of phone calls.

There are so many different tips but we have definitely share a lot of our favorites with you. Let us know what yours are!
